Yesterday, President and Sister Engbjerg
invited our missionary zone to the mission home for a
"Danish Christmas".
The table was set exquisitely
and we enjoyed pork roast, brown potatoes,
purple cabbage,
mashed potatoes, gravy and
of course Danish
rice pudding with cherry sauce. The tree even had real candles on it!
We sang carols,
listened to the soothing tones of
"Away in A Manger",
laughed, giggled, munched, presented and observed some clever skits,
and even Santa was there!
It was a warm and wonderful day with people
we have grown to love and cherish like our family.
If we can't be with you this year.....
there's no better place to be.

I'm so glad you are enjoying some Christmas cheer. I wish you were here with us, but I know you are where you need and want to be. We will miss you. Love ya sis.
Sounds like you had a great evening. What a good way to start off the Holiday season. I am not sure what brown potatoes are, or how good Danish rice pudding with cherry sauce is ,but, they both sound great. I never have understood how real candles on a live tree works.
i remember well those mission Christmases. no place to catch and understand the spirit of christmas like you can on a mission. its awesome. enjoy!!!
Oh Sister Banner! I am in love with your blog. This is wonderful!
It looks like you had a wonderful time at your Danish Christmas! Bet you never thought you'd ever come to Poland and celebrate a Danish Christmas! Wonderful!
