Spring Has Sprung

After a gray and bleak winter...

Spring has arrived!

I guess we must go through the
dreary...
to appreciate the beautiful!

Storks

Did you ever wonder where babies come from?

Poland!
While cruising around the
countryside
the last couple of weeks...
We've spotted giant nests in the trees and on tops of
poles.
On Sunday we found this one with two
storks standing in it. Amazing!
The lady who had this nest in
her backyard didn't appreciate me
taking pictures and turned
her dog on me!

Castles

If I could choose a castle
to be a princess in....
I'd choose
this one!

Waffles

Amazing how much fun you can
have with a waffle, some Nutella and
spray whipped cream...

Who knew that waffles would be such a hit
in Poland?

They put out the welcome sign
wherever we go...
and we love it.

Memories of Berlin

Not much remains where
"the Wall"
once stood

It's marked through the city
by a simple line---reminding
others that it once carved across this street,
separating neighbors

and Checkpoint Charlie
is only a place to have
your picture taken.

But, this impressive Jewish memorial
was built directly over
Hitler's bunker,
to remind us all of the
terrible tragedy of World War II.

And the bullet holes
remaining on this
building represent the
scars of a tragic
period in the world's history.
May we be ever vigilant
that it will never be repeated.

History

Not long ago we took a journey back in time to World War II
as we visited the UPRISING MUSEUM.

The stories of courage and valor were fascinating....

but Tragic.
